Guidelines - Summary

The Industry Development program aims to develop the skills of Tasmanian screen practitioners, recognising that highly-skilled and experienced professionals are vital for the long-term growth of the screen industry in Tasmania.

SUMMARY

Funding is eligible for applicants to attend established Australian screen industry conferences and events. 

These events will be chosen at Screen Tasmania’s discretion each year, and either be sponsored or supported by the agency. A public invitation will be issued for practitioners to submit their applications through Screen Tasmania’s application portal.

Being a successful recipient of Stream B - Conference Support will not count towards the overall cap applied to Stream A - Market Travel.

Sponsored and supported conferences and events for 2024-2025 include:

  • PAX
  • Gamescom
  • Game Developers Conference (GDC)
  • MIFF
  • Screen Forever
  • Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC)
  • Australian Children’s Content Summit (ACCS)

At a glance:

Funding support will be a SET AMOUNT determined by Screen Tasmania, based approximately on 50 per cent of the following expenses:

  • accommodation
  • airfares
  • any registration or entry fees
  • per diems
  • transfers

Please Read:

The application process has changed from previous years and Screen Tasmania will NOT register your attendance on your behalf. Please read the following steps before applying for funding. If successful, you will:

  1.  be notified by email.
  2.  be required to send Screen Tasmania an invoice for a lump sum payment. 
  3.  receive a special code to access your discount and payment for registration.
  4.  be required to use the code and payment to purchase your pass (Note: Screen Tasmania will not register on your behalf. You must do this yourself). 
  5.  be required to submit an Acquittal form detailing the outcomes of your experience at the Conference.
